A central spot in the southern suburbs of Cape Town; it gives very easy access to the airport (14 km, 15 minutes by car), to Cape Town (10 km and 12 minutes by car), waterfront (12 km and 15 minutes by car) and to the Atlantic sea board beaches (15 km (20 minutes by car).
You can hire a car (R350 a day approx.), take a taxi (cheap and mid-range and expensive – see separate info sheet on transport), take a bus and take a train to Cape Town and to Simons town on the Indian Ocean side.

Kalk Bay Theatre and Restaurant 
Kalk Bay theatre is in Kalk Bay past Muizenberg – this is a great evening out with dinner, one hour show and dessert afterwards. Lots of fun and great food and service.
Willoughby’s V & A Waterfront, Cape Town – excellent sushi and fish
Panama Jacks, Cape Town harbour – quirky fish restaurant only known by locals – it is not easy to find but worth a visit
Royal Eatery or Royal Burgers on Long Street, 273 Long St, Cape Town 8000 – great range of tasty burgers, good value.
Theo’s at Mouille point on the Atlantic Sea Board – excellent steaks–butcher

Chai Yo in Mowbray for Thai food – 1 km. 021 689 6157
Ons Huisie Restaurant, Stadler Rd, Cape Town 7441 Blauberg Strand – 021 554 1553 good food and stunning views – go for a nice drive on a warm day.
The Watermark in Kalk Bay (go early for the sea view) and a drive on the Indan Ocean side of the peninsula
Barristers Restaurant – in Claremont – very good steak, in fact all their food is lovely and this place is close.  The suare this this is on also has other lovely restaurants
Melissa’s for breakfast and lunch and lovely food
Knead bakery – Palmyra Junction, Claremont – also not too far away, good breakfast and lunch and lovely bread and pastry
Palmyra Junction has a nice fish restaurant too Southern Cross Sea Food Deli in Palmyra Junction too and a very good Woolworths with fresh produce and a good bakery.

But they don’t list Rosetta Roastery which we love :  it is in an area called Woodstock (bit of a rough area) but in a beautiful new building called Woodstock Exchange  The area is becoming gentrified.  Great place to visit.
